Hello, friends!
This incredible wedding at the British Colonial Hilton Nassau calls for an extra long, super post featuring Marianne and Jeremiah. Their experiential wedding weekend included a destination engagement session, several pre-wedding activities, an incredible wedding day at the Hilton, and a day of snorkeling after!
We were so excited to spend last weekend celebrating with them, and documenting all the joy and fun as these two were joined in marriage. Their story starts over 15 years ago, when a 12 year old Jeremiah threw away an 11 year old Marianne’s beloved, family heirloom flute. On that particular day, that girl knew she hated that boy. But thanks to life, and a matchmaking mentor who dearly loves these two hearts, they found themselves dating years later. A blissful summer turned into a long distance relationship that didn’t last, and life took them their separate ways. They thought of each other through the years, but were never in contact. Years later, within two weeks of each other, Marianne and Jeremiah both contacted their mentor, and separately mentioned each other, lamenting the time that had passed, and the one who got away. Their mentor set to match making, and one fall day in NYC they met again, and knew their love was meant to be. And that leads us to this beautiful celebration we’re sharing with you today!
This weekend was extra special for me, because I grew up just down the street from Marianne and her family. She was one of my first friends in Kentucky, and we shared many imaginative adventures at each other’s houses! We went our separate ways as we grew up, but our families always exchanged stories, and I could not have been more honored to get to spend such a special weekend with them! Seeing Marianne and Jeremiah together, and hearing about their passions in life, it’s easy to see that these two are made for each other. They have so much fun doing life together!
Their wedding weekend, filled with friends and family, was a blast from beginning to end! We had the best time exploring the area, and having conversations with the locals and seeing how much they truly embrace life. On Friday, we explored Nassau with Marianne and Jeremiah for their adventure engagement session, with stops at the Queen’s Staircase and Cabbage Beach. On the way to the beach, our amazing cab driver, Simone, was telling us about a place called the Cloisters, where we should go to take photos (and which happened to be where she got married). We told her we were excited about going to the beach, and thanked her for the suggestion. Well, after leaving the beach, she drove us over there anyway. And holy moly, was it amazing!! Such a beautiful spot!
Saturday started off with the ladies heading out for an incredible lunch of tapas and white sangria at Dali modernistic Tapas (SO good!!), and the gentlemen headed out to the Cricket Club for lunch! After lunch, all the ladies gathered in the bridal suite for champagne (and lots of laughter!) as Marianne got her hair and makeup done. The ceremony took place at the British Colonial Hilton facing the stunning white sand beach and crystal clear turquoise water, and ended with a most-fitting recessional song, “Everything is Awesome!” Dinner at the hotel restaurant Aqua was unbelievable, and wrapped up with a super sweet poem from the maid of honor, Marianne’s sister Liz. Not pictured was Sunday’s snorkeling trip with most of the wedding guests, where we even got to swim with sharks!
But enough talking–let’s get on to some (ok, a lot!) of our favorite images from the weekend!
Marianne & Jeremiah–CONGRATULATIONS!! We are just so happy for you both, and so honored that you invited us along to document your wedding celebrations.
