I’m super excited to share more of Chris and Laura Lee’s engagement session! You probably remember them for their sneak peek, with the rowboat image that is now also on the front page of our website 🙂

Laura Lee and Chris are getting married at Cedarwood next June, so it was the perfect pick for their engagement session 🙂 (Side note: we absolutely love the ladies at Cedarwood! They do such an amazing job collaborating with and taking care of their couples!) Laura Lee is like the iconic Southern bride…sweet as sweet tea, stylish, and creative! One of their purposes for their engagement images was to make save the date cards, and she created the adorable number blocks with their wedding date. Perfect!

So sweet. Onto some more of our favorite images!

Next we headed downtown for some more modern images. I love how she styled their outfits with the cowboy boots and Chris’s red shirt!

So fun! And now for a funny story. This was a sunrise engagement session, which means the light was awesome, even though we may or may not have been 100% awake haha. So we pull up to the Cedarwood nature preserve, it’s barely light out, a little foggy, and this guy comes out of the weeds:

Not gonna lie, it was kind of startling haha! Too funny. He also had a friend, but the second one didn’t hang around as long. This one was super interested in what we were doing haha. So we say we were attacked by wolves…aka visited by two random Alaskan huskies 😉

Anyway…that’s it for today! We are in Kentucky to shoot a reception, and it is a beautiful day! Check back for more full engagement sessions at the beginning of next week before Thanksgiving 🙂

  1. Linda at Cedarwood says:

Jen and Chris, awwww….as great as we KNEW you would be! Amazing images on the nature preserve. And the rowboat pic? Probably the best ever! Laura Lee, thanks for making this happen with your early shoot schedule 🙂 These images are a million bucks good. Can’t wait for your wedding +Chris next year.

  2. Sharon says:

Awww…I love these! Gorgeous couple, light, session! I loved the husky especially j/k

  3. Katie Corbin says:

All the photos are stunning, as usual. The Husky photo is particularly captivating. Maybe because it’s a change of pace from the usual content, but what a great photo to get in the process! The color is incredible. Nice work Creeds.

These are gorgeous! I know they have to be crazy about them! And, WOW about the huskies! I would have definitely been startled as well 🙂

BEHIND THE LENS

A note from Jen

Purpose and passion and the lessons of over 17 years of weddings...

I'm writing this today staring out at the bright blue Colorado sky, near Boulder, CO where I live with my husband of nearly 17 years and our 8 year old son. We moved here to chase the mountains and adventure and a life fully lived, after over a decade in Nashville, TN.

It might seem silly to say that I believe part of my purpose here on this earth is creating photos at people’s weddings. But here’s the thing. Life is absolutely going to life. There are going to be days and seasons that are freaking hard and awful and the world feels like it’s burning down (literally, metaphorically, in all the ways). And there are going to be days full of so much love and joy and bliss and peace that you wish you could just bottle it up for all time.

And I feel so strongly that that’s WHY a wedding matters. And why your photos matter. And why making it so intentional and purposeful to you matters. To create the space to intentionally create beautiful new memories together. Because it’s a weekend to say that this love (yes, all love) and these people (yes, all people) MATTER. It exists. It is real. And it’s worth celebrating the f*** out of. In a radical defiance of everything telling us to be scared and wall up our hearts.

And it’s worth documenting. My purpose in this is to be present with what’s there on your wedding day—all the joy, love, and whatever else is showing up—and creating the record of it. A record of what is true to you. So that when the days hit hard, you can point back at this anchor of joy and love, and know that it exists. It is real. It is worth celebrating.

Sending all the love, wherever this journey of life is meeting you today. xoxo, Jen
