It’s an old Southern tradition that if you bury a bottle of bourbon at the spot where you are getting married, you’ll have good weather on your wedding day. Missy and Nathan did, and the weather could not have been more perfect for their Graystone Quarry wedding! And getting to dig it up after the ceremony and share with your friends? Priceless! (Even if it does spill halfway out as you’re digging it up!)
Missy and Nathan are so sweet and easy going together. We loved getting to know them (and their dog, Bella!) during their engagement session and throughout their wedding planning process! They actually first met in 7th grade, and even went to their freshman homecoming dance together. They went to different high schools and colleges, but kept in touch over the years. They officially began dating in 2008, and have been together ever since! When they began planning their wedding, they completely fell in love with Graystone Quarry (which was still under construction at the time!), and how unique it was for Nashville. They were so excited to spend the evening celebrating with friends and family, and it truly turned out to be a stunning celebration!
On to just a few of our favorites from the day! And fun fact: We’ve had one other couple that we know of who buried a bottle of bourbon for their wedding day: Kyle and Wil. And Wil was actually the officiant for Missy and Nathan’s ceremony! Always such a joy to see our past couples alongside our newest couples!
Congratulations, Missy and Nathan! We are so happy for you both, and loved getting to document your beautiful celebration! We can’t wait for you to see all of your images!
