I always love my job. But some days, some sessions like this airport engagement session just leave me completely giddy and so thankful that I get to spend time with such amazing people, creating art. And I get to do it with my husband by my side, are you kidding me?!
So yeah, today was one of those days. I met Rebecca several years ago, at summer camp, and she ended up being on staff, just like me (but in different years). So this past Christmas at our annual former staff Christmas party, we were chatting and she told me about this awesome guy, Coran she was dating. Rebecca and Coran met at school at Georgetown College in KY. Rebecca was an RA, and they used to walk down to the park just down from the school, and talk and swing until the wee hours of the morning. Those were the swings where their relationship became official. And the swings where we began their engagement pictures today! (Images from that coming later!).
Coran wanted to surprise Rebecca with a proposal. He was in graduate school in NYC, and flew in to Lexington during a school break. He didn’t want her to catch on by suggesting they go to dinner, or to “their” park, so he proposed, right there in baggage claim. So adorable!
They are planning a travel themed wedding next June (during college, they got to study abroad in Europe at the same time, how awesome is that?), and when we were planning their engagement session, Rebecca mentioned including some pictures at the airport. Well, it just so happens that my dad is a pilot, and has friends with some awesome WWII planes, and thus began one of the most epic engagement sessions of all time 🙂 It was threatening rain all day, but thanks to mine and Rebecca’s combined “no rain” dances, the clouds cleared and the sun came out just in time! Here are a few of our favorites, enjoy!
Yeah. I really love this shot. I just kinda laughed when it came up on my screen as I was downloading memory cards. I’ll probably put this on MY wall haha
So gorgeous. I love Rebecca’s eyes!
Congratulations again, Rebecca and Coran! We had so much fun with you all today, thank you so much for being flexible and letting us play today. We absolutely can’t wait for your wedding!
And a HUGE thanks to my dad for helping us out with this session, rearranging airplanes, escorting us around airport grounds, etc. You’re the best, dad!
*Edit* This is what I get for blogging late! I completely forgot to thank Dr. Joe Richardson for the use of his beautiful WWII planes! Thanks, Dr. Joe!!
Have a great weekend, everyone! We’ll be shooting Casey and Cliff’s wedding in Frankfort, KY tomorrow, so keep an eye out for a sneak peek coming soon 🙂
Really love this post guys! I love how you captured them in the space if you know what I mean. Especially love the shot of their feet, I totally stand on the side of my foot like that too!
