Parthenon wedding photos Nashville

Hello, everyone!

We were so excited to kick off the fall wedding season with Meredith and Brian’s wedding at the Cathedral of the Incarnation here in Nashville, and their reception at the beautiful Hermitage Hotel! Their wedding photos at the Parthenon in Nashville are some of my all time favorites–it’s such a classic location. So, super sized blog post coming right up! Meredith and Brian were introduced by Brian’s cousin, who happened to be dating one of Meredith’s roommates. During the reception, we had a chance to talk with Brian’s dad, who said that from the moment Brian met Meredith it was all over (in the best way possible)! So much love going around all day! I always love when our couples are able to relax and just really take in everything about the day and each other, which these two definitely did. We’re so thankful to them and their friends and family for making us feel so welcome!

On to some favorite images (I had the hardest time narrowing these down–so many favorites!!)!

There always seems to be a moment in the reception where the bride and groom find each other, and they dance, and it’s as if they’re the only two in the room. Just for a song, it’s as if everyone else has faded away, and they realize they get to spend the rest of forever together. I think it’s always one of my favorite moments of the day.

Meredith and Brian: A huge congratulations to you both 🙂 You all are the sweetest, and we are just so happy we got to celebrate with you on Saturday! Thanks for being so awesome, and have an amazing time in Hawaii!

Thanks goes out to everyone who helped make it a perfect day, especially the planning team at A Delightful Day! Meredith’s beautiful dress was by Lazaro and from Arzelle’s Bridal, the delicious cake was by Dessert Designs by Leland, the flowers were by Branching Out, and the food was catered by the Hermitage Hotel. The Downtown Band kept the reception rocking!

Thank you all for stopping by the blog! We’ve got some really exciting things coming up soon, including the launch of our new brand! Which we will be celebrating with some fun stuff here on the blog, so keep an eye out 🙂

I’ll leave you with the words from Meredith’s dad’s toast: May your real life always exceed your dreams! Have a great week, everyone!

BEHIND THE LENS

A note from Jen

Purpose and passion and the lessons of over 17 years of weddings...

I'm writing this today staring out at the bright blue Colorado sky, near Boulder, CO where I live with my husband of nearly 17 years and our 8 year old son. We moved here to chase the mountains and adventure and a life fully lived, after over a decade in Nashville, TN.

It might seem silly to say that I believe part of my purpose here on this earth is creating photos at people’s weddings. But here’s the thing. Life is absolutely going to life. There are going to be days and seasons that are freaking hard and awful and the world feels like it’s burning down (literally, metaphorically, in all the ways). And there are going to be days full of so much love and joy and bliss and peace that you wish you could just bottle it up for all time.

And I feel so strongly that that’s WHY a wedding matters. And why your photos matter. And why making it so intentional and purposeful to you matters. To create the space to intentionally create beautiful new memories together. Because it’s a weekend to say that this love (yes, all love) and these people (yes, all people) MATTER. It exists. It is real. And it’s worth celebrating the f*** out of. In a radical defiance of everything telling us to be scared and wall up our hearts.

And it’s worth documenting. My purpose in this is to be present with what’s there on your wedding day—all the joy, love, and whatever else is showing up—and creating the record of it. A record of what is true to you. So that when the days hit hard, you can point back at this anchor of joy and love, and know that it exists. It is real. It is worth celebrating.

Sending all the love, wherever this journey of life is meeting you today. xoxo, Jen
