Sometimes you come across people who, before you even hear them talk, are obviously filled with a quiet peace and a beautiful joy. And as you get to know them, they are the kind of people who encourage you just by being themselves, and inspire you to be the best version of yourself you can be. Allie and Chris are those kind of people, and we are so thankful to have gotten to know them through our time together!
Allie and Chris originally met while in college, and had mutual friends, but didn’t really connect until they both were back home in Nashville. They finally got together to talk about something near and dear to both of their hearts: missions and Africa. They hit it off, and in less than a year, they were engaged! I heard through the grapevine that Chris knew from early on Allie was the one, and a few days before the wedding, on their last date as an engaged couple, Chris gave Allie a jar filled with mementos of all the dates they ever had. How freaking sweet is that?! Allie and Chris’s wedding day dawned dark and stormy, but it didn’t matter, because there was plenty of bright smiles to go around! I know that sounds terribly cheesy, but it’s just true 🙂 Their day was full of family and friends who were so excited to celebrate and see these two joined together, and a little bit of rain wasn’t going to stop that!
One of my favorite things about photographing Allie and Chris is that all they are thinking about is being in love with each other, and not even thinking about us being there with our cameras. Which makes for beautiful moments like this that I just love!
I love how excited Allie and her dad were just before walking down the aisle!
Being announced as Mr. & Mrs.! Their reception ended up being cut just slightly short to avoid some crazy storms that were brewing, but they still had an amazing party, as you’ll see in the next few images!
Sweet moments during their first dance
Allie being serenaded by her ADPi sisters!
It really makes me smile a lot that Allie and her grandmother are making the same face in this shot on the right 🙂 So sweet!
Love this shot 🙂
Allie and Chris: here’s to a love that lasts forever, and seeing the brightness in even the gloomiest of days. Best wishes on your many adventures as you move to Africa! We are so happy to have been there to celebrate your marriage with you 🙂
