Happy Friday, friends!
Today is an incredibly gorgeous day in Nashville, and this drop in humidity has got me excited to share a ton of our favorite images from Katie & Art’s Chicago destination engagement session! We just have so many favorites from hanging out and exploring the city with these two, and I’m just all wrapped up in warm and fuzzy feelings over here 🙂 No better way to celebrate a Friday! Over and over again, we hear from our couples that they don’t want cheesy engagement photos. There’s some crazy stuff out there in Pinterest world, and none of it looks like something they would ever in a million years do. We totally agree, and we are just over the moon when a couple opts to incorporate their favorite spots and daily life into their session. We believe that this time period of being engaged, even though it’s so short compared to the lifetime you have ahead with each other, deserves to be documented and remembered. When you look at your photos, we want you to feel like “this is us.”
Katie and Art totally “got it.” We spent the morning exploring some of their favorite spots: a stroll along the waterfront at sunrise, their favorite coffee shop (which I can’t wait to go back to some day!), the dog park with their dog Saidee, and one of their favorite things to do: a walk around their neighborhood in Ukrainian Village, which they just love! It was such an honor to share in some of these spots with them, and see the natural joy they have together, and how much they enjoy getting to do life together! We spent the 24 hours leading up to the session having multiple freakouts about the unpredictable weather and the forecast that kept changing every five minutes, but we ended up with a beautiful sunrise, and when a little bit of rain rolled in towards the end of the session, it just added to the adventure! Perfectly imperfect–our favorite way to be.
