Sharing a sneak peek today from Allison and Brad’s War Memorial Auditorium and Cathedral of the Incarnation wedding in Nashville, TN!

We could not have asked for a better day to kick off our 2012 wedding season! Allison and Brad are so incredibly sweet, every detail was perfect, rain plans went unneeded, and we got to work with an amazing group of vendors and friends! The ceremony, at Cathedral of the Incarnation, was beautiful. and you know it’s awesome when the officiant mentions Harry Potter in his message, not to mention the story of how Allison and Brad’s dogs played a part in bringing them together 🙂 The reception at the War Memorial Auditorium was a stunning party that was rocking well into the night!

You all. I have to brag on Chris a little bit. I always love what he shoots, he really does an incredible job, and the way the creative parts of his brain sees things blows me away. But several shots he created at Allison and Brad’s wedding literally took my breath away! Especially this one, which was as Allison was walking up to Brad for their first look.

This is another one. Seriously?! Perfect candid moment of this adorable flower girl, as we were about to start the wedding party pictures. How beautiful is she?

This is always one of my favorite moments on a wedding day! I love the joy here, both from Allison and Brad and their guests!

Congratulations, Allison and Brad! We are SO glad we got to celebrate with you both on your wedding day! Have an amazing time on your honeymoon!

And a HUGE thank you to Sarah Addison and the team at Simply Stunning Events for keeping us all moving smoothly all day, to Amy Lynn Larwig for Allison & bridesmaids beautiful hair and make up, to Fresh by CarryAnn for the flowers (Allison’s bouquet was so pretty, and smelled amazing!), and all the other vendors that made the day perfect!

Thanks everyone for stopping by!

BEHIND THE LENS

A note from Jen

Purpose and passion and the lessons of over 17 years of weddings...

I'm writing this today staring out at the bright blue Colorado sky, near Boulder, CO where I live with my husband of nearly 17 years and our 8 year old son. We moved here to chase the mountains and adventure and a life fully lived, after over a decade in Nashville, TN.

It might seem silly to say that I believe part of my purpose here on this earth is creating photos at people’s weddings. But here’s the thing. Life is absolutely going to life. There are going to be days and seasons that are freaking hard and awful and the world feels like it’s burning down (literally, metaphorically, in all the ways). And there are going to be days full of so much love and joy and bliss and peace that you wish you could just bottle it up for all time.

And I feel so strongly that that’s WHY a wedding matters. And why your photos matter. And why making it so intentional and purposeful to you matters. To create the space to intentionally create beautiful new memories together. Because it’s a weekend to say that this love (yes, all love) and these people (yes, all people) MATTER. It exists. It is real. And it’s worth celebrating the f*** out of. In a radical defiance of everything telling us to be scared and wall up our hearts.

And it’s worth documenting. My purpose in this is to be present with what’s there on your wedding day—all the joy, love, and whatever else is showing up—and creating the record of it. A record of what is true to you. So that when the days hit hard, you can point back at this anchor of joy and love, and know that it exists. It is real. It is worth celebrating.

Sending all the love, wherever this journey of life is meeting you today. xoxo, Jen
